Musicals are like macaroni and cheese. There’s a wide range of quality, and just because I like some fancy homemade baked 18-cheese casserole style doesn’t mean I’m above the 99-cent E Z Mac (especially when I am drunk). But on the whole it’s theatrical junk food. Delicious, but nothing particularly substantial.
